the damned

the damned: crime syndicate

A crime syndicate called "The Damned", run by the mysterious Mr. Shadow. The Damned runs the criminal underground of Terminus station, and has spies through out not only the station and difference parts of it, but some 'agents' are placed on ships too. The agents report back information to Mr. Shadow, mostly through encrypted means. Only a select few know who Mr. Shadow actually is, and they are sworn to take the secret to their graves -- literally.

The syndicate has been in action for as long as Terminus Station has been around, but this new and improved version has only been around for five years. Most of the agents who work for the syndicate now are new; any older members have been killed or mysteriously gone missing for various reasons. The group is a well-oiled machine and works flawlessly. They work to control the drug and illegal items trade on Terminus, deal in information trading. All members of the group are referred to as their agent names, and only Mr. Shadow has a full list of all people working under him. Agents are welcome to tell other Agents, and some are prone to working in pairs. Agents must have a cover-story and a "real" job.

The one thing the syndicate will never do: adult/child trafficking. The moment Mr. Shadow gets wind of this going on, the offenders are dealt with swiftly and violently.

agents and general info

No one knows who "Mr. Shadow" actually is minus his Second-in-Command. This is done to make sure the organization stays as a shadow organization. Some Agents who are higher up may get communication directly from "Mr. Shadow", but most things run through the SIC.

Since 2651, all members of the organization now deal in Agent names and code names. This helps to keep a level of secrecy between members, ad also protects Agents from being roped into the messes of other Agents. Agents are required to have other jobs so that the organization is not their only means of income.

Agents are given decent compensation for their job role, and good benefits (yes, they all have health insurance). If Agents ever need a lawyer, one can be given to them, but at the cost of knowing they will be demoted for getting caught; and thus on probation.

All communication is sent through highly encrypted means, filtered through multiple servers and connections that make it insanely hard to trace. For items, there are established warehouses where they are to be dropped off. These warehouse change weekly, and all Agents know which warehouse is in play; they are given a schedule when they join and are required to memorize it and commit it to memory.

Recruitment Process

There are a few ways to join the organization. Agents are either recruited or they find a way to 'apply', but both ways involve a lengthy 'test' that must be passed. Agents also have an extensive background check run on them. Once accepted into the ranks, Agents are told to give a code name and then are given a 'title' within the organization.

Those who remain loyal are rewarded greatly. Those who are not are removed from the organization.

Agents are given access to a highly encrypted server where all communication with Mr. Shadow and the organization takes place.
